UMUC Web Account provides faculty server space to support their teaching. Individual instructors may use this web account to create a virtual presence on the web. Any UMUC Asia faculty member is entitled to have a web account. Some possibilities of using a web account: linking multimedia course materials such as graphics, video, and sound to the WebTycho classroom, storing documents, building a home page, etc.
Faculty may keep the web account as long as they teach for UMUC. The size of each individual web space will be limited. If you have questions regarding the size of the web account, contact Dan Vogel at dvogel@asia.umuc.edu. Obtaining a web account Download FTP program and the Instructions Most UMUC labs have an FTP program installed on the computers . If you need an FTP program for your personal computer, go to the following site and download the SmartFTP program. This software is free of charge and easy to use. If you are teaching a class(es) that requires students to use a web server as part of the class work, UMUC Asia provides web accounts for students. Check the following self-service web page for information regarding obtaining web accounts for your students.
